National Field Sales | National Industry Network (NIN)Atlanta, Georgia | In Office | Full-Time Base Salary: $100,000 per year + Uncapped Team Overrides Target Total Compensation: $400,000+
Build and Lead a 50-City National Sales Organization
National Industry Network is building a national field-sales organization focused on one of the most valuable segments of the private-business sector: owners of privately held middle-market companies, with particular emphasis on businesses valued at $10 million and above.
We are looking for an exceptional sales leader to build it.
Our plan is to establish Area Development Managers (ADMs) in the top 50 metropolitan markets in America. These ADMs will develop relationships with business owners in their markets, meet with them face-to-face, and generate qualified new business listings for NIN.
As our Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for building, leading, developing, and managing this national organization.
This is not an individual sales position. We don't want you spending your day selling.
We want you building and leading an organization that sells.
The Compensation Opportunity
This position provides a $100,000 annual base salary plus an aggressive, uncapped override on the production of the ADM organization you build and manage.
The compensation plan will be structured so that a BDM who successfully builds the national organization and achieves its production objectives has the opportunity to earn $300,000 or more annually in override compensation.
That means a successful BDM has the opportunity to earn $400,000+ in total annual compensation. There is no artificial ceiling on what an exceptional leader can earn as the organization grows.
We want your economic interests directly aligned with ours:
Build great people.
Make them successful.
Grow their production.
Build an exceptional national sales organization.
Share meaningfully in the results.
Your Mission
Your first responsibility will be to help develop and execute the plan for building NIN's national field-sales organization.
You will work directly with NIN's executive leadership to help build the national field-sales model and then turn that model into a high-performing organization.
You will:
Recruit high-caliber ADMs in major U.S. markets
Build a continuous national recruiting pipeline
Develop the national sales plan
Prioritize markets and territories
Create a repeatable ADM recruiting and onboarding system
Train and develop new ADMs
Establish daily, weekly, and monthly performance expectations
Coach ADMs individually and as a team
Manage activity and pipeline aggressively
Identify underperformance early and take corrective action
Develop future sales leaders
Help develop market and industry specialization strategies
Scale the organization toward coverage of the top 50 U.S. markets
Your success will not be measured by how much business you personally sell. It will be measured by how successful you make the people you lead.
We Want an Incredible Leader of People
Technology can improve sales organizations, but it cannot replace great leadership.
We are looking for someone who knows how to recruit talented people, earn their respect, set high expectations, coach them, motivate them, develop them, and hold them accountable.
You should genuinely enjoy building people.
You should know how to recognize potential, turn good salespeople into great salespeople, identify future leaders, and create a culture where talented people want to perform.
At the same time, you must be comfortable having difficult conversations when expectations aren't being met.
We want a leader who can be supportive without lowering standards and demanding without destroying culture.
Lead People. Leverage Technology.
We believe the next generation of exceptional sales organizations will combine outstanding human leadership with AI, automation, technology, and data.
You do not need to be a programmer or an AI engineer.
But you must be technologically curious and comfortable using modern tools to make yourself and your team faster, smarter, more efficient, and more productive.
We want a leader who looks at repetitive administrative work and asks: Can we automate this?
Who looks at sales data and asks:What is this telling us?
Who looks at AI and asks: How can this make our ADMs better?
We expect you to embrace CRM technology, AI-assisted prospecting and research, automated follow-up, sales analytics, dashboards, call intelligence, training technology, and other tools that improve productivity and accountability.
Our philosophy is simple:
Technology should reduce administration so our ADMs can spend more time developing relationships with business owners.
Manage the Numbers Every Day
This will be a highly accountable sales organization. Every business day, you should know what is happening throughout your organization.
Among other metrics, you will monitor:
New targeted business owners contacted
First conversations with owners
Follow-up conversations
Appointments scheduled
Face-to-face meetings completed
Qualified opportunities created
Listing presentations delivered
Listing agreements outstanding
New listings signed
Estimated value of new listings
Pipeline value by ADM
Conversion rates
Production by ADM
Production by market
Performance against weekly and monthly objectives
You will provide executive leadership with a concise daily national sales scorecard.
We don't want reports simply telling us what happened. We expect you to understand why it happened and what you're going to do next.
Who We're Looking For
This opportunity is intended for an accomplished sales leader with significant experience managing a national, regional, or large multi-market sales organization.
You should have demonstrated success in:
Recruiting high-performing salespeople
Building and scaling sales organizations
Leading geographically dispersed teams
Training and coaching professional salespeople
Managing through KPIs and CRM data
Creating sales plans and performance standards
Building high-performance cultures
Holding people accountable
Developing sales leaders
Forecasting production
Using technology to increase sales productivity
Adopting AI and automation to improve organizational performance
Communicating effectively with executive leadership
Experience working with business owners, CEOs, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, or other senior decision-makers is strongly preferred.
Experience in M&A, business brokerage, investment banking, commercial finance, private equity, wealth management, commercial insurance, professional services, or another sophisticated B2B environment is valuable.
This Is Not a Maintenance Job
We aren't handing you a mature national sales organization and asking you to maintain it. We are asking you to help build one.
You will have substantial influence over how the organization is structured, how ADMs are recruited, how they are trained, how territories are developed, how performance is measured, and how technology is deployed.
If something isn't working, we expect you to improve it. If there's a better way to do something, we want you to find it.
And if AI or technology allows 50 people to accomplish what previously required 75, we want a leader who embraces that opportunity rather than resisting it.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This is an opportunity to build a national sales organization from the ground up while participating economically in what you create.
$100,000 base salary.
Aggressive, uncapped override compensation.
A performance plan designed to provide $300,000+ in additional annual earning potential when the organization achieves its production objectives.
Potential total annual compensation of $400,000+.
But the larger opportunity is to build something substantial.
The leader who successfully builds NIN's 50-market ADM organization will have established a major national sales platform and positioned themselves for expanded leadership responsibility as NIN continues to grow.
About National Industry Network
National Industry Network works with privately held business owners and qualified buyers throughout the United States.
While NIN serves businesses across a range of transaction sizes, our national expansion is particularly focused on privately held companies valued at $10 million and above.
We are building a field organization capable of developing direct, face-to-face relationships with these owners in America's largest markets.
If you have successfully led large sales organizations, are exceptional at developing people, embrace accountability, understand the power of AI and technology, and want the opportunity to build a national organization rather than simply inherit one, we want to talk to you.
